Caged Bird by Maya Angelou
A free bird leaps on the back of the wind
And floats downstream till the current ends
And dips his wing in the orange sun rays
And dares to claim the sky
But a bird that stalks down his narrow cage
Can seldom see through his bars of rage
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing
The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
Of things unknown but longed for still
And his tune is heard on the distant hill
For the caged bird sings of freedom!
The free bird thinks of another breeze
And the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
And the fat worms waiting on a dawn bright lawn
And he names the sky his own
But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.
The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
Of things unknown but longed for still
And his tune is heard on the distant hill
For the caged bird sings of freedom!
I did not take u along , but you were never left behind

Open Letter to All the Academicians and Intellectuals
Open Letter to All the Academicians and Intellectuals
In the last couple of years thousands of farmers committed suicide, unemployment is high, economy is low, most of the jailed people are poor, income gap is increasing so is social inequality, regionalism and Casteism persists…..and none of them have got anything to do with any foreign agency. We are responsible for our situation not…with all due respect…the Muslim terrorist organizations listed and whatsapped to all of us under a set propaganda. Not to say that we shouldn’t pay attention to these and call them Muslim or Islamic but at the same time we must acknowledge the fact that our population is affected in infinitely worse ways because of our domestic socioeconomic policies which to some extent are dictated by international politics minus terrorism factor. We pay particular attention to the list of Muslim organizations provided on net and social media and accuse them of spreading Islamic Wahabi Terror and thoughts and radicalizing young minds because it’s simplistic and appeals to ingrained prejudices. Remember we have second largest Muslim population in the world and yet we never had civil war like situation post partition. I am writing this because blind and generalized categorization of any kind gives birth to yet another and so on. When the domestic unity you seek on the basis of demonizing others then that unity is short lived. So you have to keep finding groups to demonize. No one disrespects this country. I don’t. After working in Middle East and procuring Valid US Visa, I had the opportunity to settle abroad but I didn’t because somewhere my Family values and love for the Nation didn’t allow that. We import almost 100% of crude oil from the countries that are so to speak birth place of these so called Terrorists organizations. Like 370 millions of Hindus have gone, are going and will keep going there to earn money that makes a significant chunk of remittance economy. If the governments abroad especially middle East and Malaysia (whose PM has incidentally has sad so in a recent speech registering his reservations against CAA ) start turning away large Hindu population then where would they go? My request to all of you is to read and analyze current situation and political digression. And don’t forget to read a bit of history too because that might help to form a better perspective.
